The Gakenke District is famous for its high-quality coffee in Rwanda and has been home to several Cup of Excellence winning lots in recent years. Bumbogo, the closest station to Kigali, was established in 2017 and is managed by Neza Trading Company. It has doubled its production since 2018 and has extensive drying beds in the surrounding hills. Beyond coffee procurement and processing, the station also works with the community to improve the yield and quality of the coffee for producers.
